Home Economics PDF Print E-mail
Modern Home Economics is not a single subject, it's a discipline or area of study which comprises a number of different subjects. All the subjects are designed to assist students to develop strategies which enable them to lead a fulfilled and effective life both now and in the future. All home Economics subjects are concerned with what students need for their personal development as well as career preparation.

Home Economics is a living, vital subject area which has constantly responded to changes in society to provide courses which are relevant and exciting and up to date. It is equally important for male and female students.

To live and work in an everchanging and complex society, adults of the future (today’s students) will need to have transferable skills. These are skills which can be applied equally well in different settings and work situations, for example problem solving skills, budgeting, dealing with people, working in a team situation, goal setting and decision making strategies.
