KSHS students win prestigious art prizes.
Last Wednesday 10th September, a Kingaroy SHS student, was announced winner of a prestigious label design competition.
 The students with their award certificates.
The Queensland Wine Tourism Gateway Schools Awards were announced at a ceremony at Preston Peak Winery in Toowoomba.
Education and Training Minister Rod Welford said “the Wine Tourism Gateway Schools Project, an initiative of the State Government and industry, created career pathways into the burgeoning industry” and award winners were “recognised for their enthusiasm, innovation and dedication”.
One of the awards presented was the winner of the Young Winemakers label design competition which was won by a KSHS student. Her design was submitted as part of her Senior Art studies at Kingaroy SHS and was selected from a pool of approximately 30 designs submitted by students across the state. She was presented with her award by Shane Kelly, Director of Mr Labels. The student will spend a day of work placement with Mr Labels design and production team and receive a framed set of her labels. Another Kingaroy SHS student received a Highly Commended certificate which was also presented on the day.
