Year 12 TIMELINE CHECK

If you are on track for success this year, you will:-

¯      Be spending regular & significant amounts of time on assignments, homework,.

¯      Know that you can still make a difference to your marks.

¯      Be actively considering whether you intend to pursue further training, full time work or tertiary study

¯      Be actively looking at different career areas to decide on possibilities

¯      Becoming aware of what options (courses/apprenticeships/employment     opportunities) are available, where, and what results are likely to be needed

¯      Aware of your likely OP range or rank, based on present results (It can also be a challenge to see how your results may improve with added effort/continued focus)

¯      If you ARE NOT, please come and see me and I will be happy to get you started on track. If you ARE, well done, let me know if I can help.

I would also suggest a visit to the following sites:-

www.smartfuture.edu.au, www.jobjuice.gov.au, www.myfuture.edu.au

VISUAL/PERFORMING ARTS COURSES

If you are considering any creative arts courses – visual, fine arts, drama, music, dance, acting, - it is likely that portfolios/auditions are part of the entry requirements.  These are due earlier than the end of the year so you need find out about them as soon as possible.

Visual Arts students – there are some design courses which run in the holidays and which can be an excellent investment in developing your portfolio.

A POINT TO REMEMBER  -  YOUR SIGNATURE

An essential learning, for senior students particularly, is the importance of your signature.  You need to take your signature seriously, as it is one of the most valuable things you will ever have.  Your signature in the wrong place can cost you dearly - your freedom, your money, your reputation,  and, in some countries, your life.  Any time you are invited to sign anything, make sure you understand the exact details and implications.  Sign only when you personally are totally committed to and agree with what you are signing.  If you are not, walk away and take time to consider again. Do not sign under any pressure, whether direct or indirect, peers or adults, and don’t sign anything as part of a joke.
