Dear Parents and Caregivers,

​Re: Exciting Updates and Changes for Kingaroy State High School in 2026

As we prepare for the 2026 school year, I am delighted to share several exciting updates and initiatives that reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and innovative learning environment. These changes are designed to support our students in their academic, personal, and social growth, ensuring they are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to their community.

 

1. One-to-One iPad Program and Enhanced Digital Learning

  • From 2026, Kingaroy State High School will transition to iPads as the new one-to-one hire device for new students. This change will:
    • Provide students with access to cutting-edge technology to enhance their learning experience.
    • Increase the availability of iPads in classrooms to support collaborative and digital learning opportunities.
  • We will continue to focus on QLearn as our primary learning management system, ensuring a seamless and engaging digital learning platform for students.
  • QParents will remain our key digital interface for parents and carers, enabling easy access to important information about your child's education. We encourage all families to utilise this platform to strengthen communication between school and home.

2. Launch of the Senior Prep Program

  • We are proud to introduce the Senior Prep Program, which will replace Semester 2 of Year 10. This innovative program is designed to:
    • Prepare students for the Senior phase of learning by developing essential skills and knowledge.
    • Provide students with the opportunity to earn at least 5 Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) points by the end of the program, setting them up for success in Year 12 and beyond.
  • This program reflects our commitment to ensuring every student is equipped with the tools they need to achieve their goals.

3. Infrastructure Improvements

  • We are excited to announce further upgrades to our school facilities in 2026, including:
    • The construction of two new multipurpose courts to support a variety of sports and physical activities.
    • The resurfacing of two existing courts, ensuring high-quality facilities for our students.
    • The completion of the indoor sports centre ceiling renewal, enhancing this key space for school and community use.
    • Continued improvements to student spaces around the school, creating welcoming and inclusive areas for recreation and engagement.
  • These upgrades align with our commitment to providing a safe, modern, and inspiring environment for all students.

 4. Launch of the Learning Engagement Program

  • In 2026, we will introduce the Learning Engagement Program, which focuses on:
    • Developing literacy skills through targeted reading and word study activities.
    • Supporting students to improve their educational outcomes and achieve their full potential.
  • This program is designed to enhance student engagement and academic success, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
