Building Cultural Capability at KSHS

High levels of cultural capability of staff in schools ensures a holistic response to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student and family needs, supporting health, wellbeing and academic outcomes. The building cultural capability in state schools initiative is part of the department's commitment to providing inclusive schools with safe and supportive environments in which all students, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, can experience academic success and positive learning experiences.

Toni Phillips-Petersen supports our indigenous students at KSHS as our Community Education Counsellor.

Clontarf Foundation

The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, self-esteem, life skills and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and by doing so, equips them to participate more meaningfully in society.

We are very proud to be home to the Kingaroy Academy, which includes a dedicated academy room and full-time staff, Michael Brown and Harry Sterling.
