ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

The school should be notified of any absence and reason for that absence before school begins at 9am. Absences can be notified in a number of ways:

-Via text to 0428 977 748

-Email to 2044_Absent@eq.edu.au

-Leave a voicemail on 4160 0660

-Through the QParents App

-Call Student Services on 4160 0669

Alternatively, after an absence, a student should bring a properly addressed and dated letter to Student Services, which clearly explains the reason for the absence. If a student needs to have an extended absence for reasons other than illness, this should be discussed with the Year Coordinator for that year level prior to the absence occurring, ensuring that teachers are notified and assessment and class work missed is taken into consideration. It is the student's responsibility to catch up all class work missed due to absence.

In the case of an absence of over ten (10) days, parents/caregivers must apply for an Exemption through the Principal in advance of the intended absence.

LATE ARRIVAL

Students arriving late to school for any reason, are to report to the Student Services Building immediately, to be issued with a "Late Admission" slip which they hand to their teacher. Parents or caregivers are required to notify the absence line (4160 0660) stating the reason and the expected time of arrival. Alternatively, a note signed by a parent or caregiver must be submitted to Student Services. Students who are consistently late will be required to meet consequences for lateness.
