The school houses have been named after four outstanding Queenslanders:
Dr John BRADFIELD - Outstanding Engineer who designed the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Sir John LAVARACK - Brisbane soldier who went on to become Governor of Queensland
Vance PALMER - Queensland novelist, journalist, playwright and poet
Henry YOUNGMAN - Pioneering farmer of "Taabinga", via Kingaroy
